Public Service Commission (PSC) has released a list of successful candidates who applied for the internship positions.

Through notice issued Tuesday, November 16, PSC stated that those who applied for the positions starting from August 3 in the Public Service Internship Programme (PSIP) can now check if they met the threshold set for the positions.

PSIP is a government initiative to offer opportunities to graduates to acquire and develop technical and professional skills as well as work experience in the public service.

The positions that were advertised varied from different departments, ministries, and agencies in the government. The programme sought to absorb the interns for a period of one year.Through the notice, PSC announced that the interviews for the shortlisted candidates will take place from Wednesday 17 to Friday 19, November starting at 8:00am. The interviews will be conducted via telephone.

All shortlisted candidates have been advised to carry National Identity cards or passports and academic and professional certificates.

The job notice required applicants to be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university. It also required applicants to have graduated not earlier than the year 2015. 

According to the notice, the successful applicants were to receive a monthly stipend that was to be determined by the PSC. Upon completion of the programme, interns will be awarded a certificate.

In addition, the interns stand a chance of being absorbed into various ministries and departments after completion of their one year programme.

Successful candidates will perform mutually agreed upon duties including those assigned by the supervisors and document relevant skills acquired. They also are expected to take part in various mentorship programmes during that period.

Those who applied can check if they have been shortlisted and also confirm the interview dates by visiting the PSC website: www.publicservice.go.ke and go the internship sections. In the sections all the names of the candidates have been published with all the relevant departments.
