RAILA GOES AFTER JALANG’O

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Thursday, May 11, demanded the resignation of Lang’ata Member of Parliament Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o, alongside other ODM rebel MPs in new demands over the bipartisan talks.

While addressing a rally in Kisumu County, the ODM boss vowed to push for the MPs to seek re-election after jumping ship to the Kenya Kwanza.

He indicated that the affected legislators needed to reconsider their position or be removed from their seats.

Raila explained that citizens have the power to pick their representatives, adding that Azimio would seek the people’s support if the MPs do not resign.

“Those MPS voted for by ODM and  jumped ship to Kenya Kwanza

must go home. They must come back here and seek election again. The likes of Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Gem MP Elisha Odhiambo and others must go back home.

“If you were elected, you must come back to your side. The law says that the people can have the power, and we will go back to them,” he stated.

The former premier indicated that his team in the bipartisan committee would push for the de-whipping of the MPs

alongside other demands, such as reducing the cost of living and opening the servers.

“Our team led by Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo met with the Kenya Kwanza team and we have agreed that they talk about all these issues in the next 30 days,” he added.

Earlier, Jalang’o took a swipe at the ODM boss

while attending the launch of affordable houses in Lang’ata with Ruto as he urged poll losers to accept defeat and focus on empowering Kenyans.

“I competed against Nixon Korir in Langa’ata and he accepted that I defeated him, those who were defeated should also accept defeat and move on,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the ODM has yet to determine the ouster of the MPs in a petition that Migori Senator Eddy Oketch filed.
