LIST OF AZIMIO MPs SET TO RESIGN

Azimio on Wednesday listed five issues that should be addressed during the bipartisan negotiations.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has weighed in on the issues raised by the Azimio la Umoja coalition in the bi-partisan talks.

Miguna in a statement on Thursday, May 11 poked holes in the demands by the Raila Odinga-led coalition to have the 2022 presidential election audited.

He argued that if Azimio wants the election audited they should first have all elected Members of Parliament allied to the coalition to resign.

“If this moving target is the core agenda of the “talks,” then it’s a complete waste of time and public resources – and it should be disbanded. If the Azimio group wants to “audit the 2022 general election,” then it’s members (all elected MPs in that election) should resign,” said Miguna.

Azimio on Wednesday listed five issues that should be addressed during the bipartisan negotiations.

They include; cost of living, restructuring and reconstitution of IEBC, measures to prevent interference of political parties, audit of the 2022 presidential election and outstanding constitutional matters.

Kenya Kwanza on the other hand listed seven issues which include; reconstitution of IEBC, two-thirds gender rule, creation of the office of the Official Opposition and resolving insecurity problems.

Others are; the legal framework to give effect to Article 37 of the constitution, electoral reforms and reviewing legal, policy, and administrative safeguards to prevent government institutions from state capture.
