Exiled Canada-based Kenyan lawyer Miguna Miguna has hailed Azimio La Umoja Coalition Party presidential candidate Raila Odinga for his performance in the 2022 presidential vote.
The fiery barrister and published author is on record dismissing the possibility of Raila emerging the winner in the vote, courting support for Deputy President William Ruto instead.
He now seems to have changed tune, hailing Raila for an “unforeseen” performance in the concluded elections.
Miguna however pointed out that Raila would have resoundingly done well in the polls had he not joined hands with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The lawyer implied that the president had turned Raila into a “project”.
He also ruled out the Martha Karua effect on Raila’s political fortunes since he picked her as his presidential running mate.
“I’ll publicly admit that conman Raila Odinga has done better than I had predicted. But not because of the fake “Martha Karua effect” or the fraudulent TIFA and Infotrak Research & Consulting Ltd polls. He would have won by a large margin if he hadn’t betrayed Kenyans and become a project. Now he has lost,” said Miguna Miguna.
Miguna further clarified that he was not endorsing Raila even with his admission that the Azimio La Umoja candidate had faired well in the elections.
He singled out “cowardice, betrayal, and greed” as Raila’s main undoing, which impeded his chances of having a resounding win.
“Cowardice, betrayal and greed are 3 crimes conman Raila Odinga committed against his supporters and millions of Kenyans whom despot Uhuru Kenyatta has brutalized for 10 long years. Because of this, I’ll never support him no matter what the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) declares. That’s my position,” said Raila.
