Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga has congratulated his fellow opposition leader Martha Karua for choosing what he termed as the ‘revolutionally’ side’ of the political divide.

Martha Karua comes from the Mount Kenya region which has been strongly behind the current President William Ruto in the last few years.

This was made true during last year general election that saw Ruto beat Raila Odinga and Martha Karua for the highest seat in the land through a massive number of votes from the region.

Despite here presence in the Azimio camp failing to yield high returns of votes from her home region, the former Prime Minister on Friday thanked Martha Karua for standing firm and overruling the majority mindset.

” I was very proud when I welcomed Martha Karua to Azimio. Those from the other side support this illegitimate regime but Martha chose to be a revolutionist. She had no choice but to reject them,” He said during Azimio’s mega meet hosted by Kalonzo Musyoka in Yatta.

The opposition coalition has vowed to keep the current government in check by all means. In the last two months, they have been holding protests rallies that has cripple operations in the capital city’s Central Business District.

Raila Odinga also assured the President that he will experience no peace during his time in power should he fail to fix the elections rigging vice in the country. The event was also attended by former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga.
