MEET THE ONLY HIGH SCHOOL IN KENYA THAT OWNS AEROPLANE

Owning an aeroplane is not cheap. Mang’u boys is one of the best national secondary schools in Kenya. This school is located in Kiambu county along busy Nairobi-Thika highway and a few kilometres away from Thika town. It was established by Michael Joseph Witte in the year 1925. It is thus one of the oldest secondary schools in Kenya.

Mang’u boys is the only national public school that owns an aeroplane. This school has an aeroplane because of the Aviation Programme that was introduced in 1939 by the Marianist Brothers. The Aviation Programme is focused on technical skills such as propulsion, thermodynamics and meteorology. This has facilitated inculcation of basic aviation skills required for advanced studies into the students

In addition, Mang’u boys is well known for its impressive academic performance. It shines both in local and national examinations. In 2020 KCSE examination, Mang’u boys posted a mean score of 9.868 B (plain). Mang’u boys also performs better in rugby and soccer when it comes to co-curriculum activities.
