Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi has asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to accept him back to Azimio la Umoja train.
Speaking during the burial of Conslata Orwenjo, the second wife to Alego/Usonga Sub-county ODM branch Chairman John Orwenjo, Maangi asked Raila not to treat him as an enemy since he is loaded with lots of strategies that would catalyze his power bid.
Maangi said he prefers Azimio la Umoja movement train to UDA camp which he now claims to be composed of reactionary leaders keen on fulfilling selfish interests.
“I have abandoned UDA for it lacks tangible agenda that can move Kenya into the next height but composed of reactionary leaders keen on executing schemes that would see them fulfil selfish interests at the expense of development,” Maangi said adding that he should not be treated as an enemy but as a pillar that would make Raila succeed.
“I have abandoned Ruto’s bandwagon. Am a true soldier of Raila in Kisii and entire Nyanza. We shall gather all and scatter none till we achieve our ambitions of seeing to it that Raila gets to power that has been elusive for years,” he stated.
Maangi who was accompanied by Siaya deputy Governor James Okumbe, Senator James Orengo, EALA MP Oburu Oginga, Alego/Usonga Mp Samwel Atandi, former Police Spokesperson Charles Owino and Siaya First Lady Rosella Rasanga said he sat with his boss James Ongwae and resolved to end their political dispute that revolves around Raila’s presidency.
“I sat with my Governor Ongwae and had extensive deliberations that made me change my mind,” Maangi noted.
Going forward will stick to Raila in his presidential bid because have realized that his Azimio la Umoja Movement has turned out to be a political umbrella that would host most blocs.
“I have declared in public that I’m no longer an agent of UDA and the initiatives that will depolarize or frustrate Raila’s bid in Nyanza,” Maangi stated adding that he shall join strategies to see to it that Raila get 100 per cent of votes in Kisii.
