MARTHA KARUA’S MESSAGE TO RAILA AND KALONZO

Narc Kenya party leader Martha Karua was conspicuously missing at the Azimio La Umoja grand coalition-making event at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) in Nairobi.

During the event over 10 political parties committed to working with Raila Odinga, who was unanimously appointed to fly the presidential flag of the grand coalition.

Karua who is touted as a possible running mate of Odinga was nowhere to be found during the major event despite signing a coalition agreement with One Kenya Alliance (OKA), which is supporting Odinga’s candidature.

After veteran journalist and politician, David Makali asked where Karua was on Twitter, the former Gichugu MP responded that she was relaxing at home.

“Where is Martha Karua?” Makali asked before Karua responded “relaxing at home,”.

Karua at the same time did not attend a major rally organized at the Jacaranda grounds in Nairobi and which was also attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Political pundits say that Karua is being hunted by Odinga and Deputy President William Ruto to be their running mate in the upcoming polls.

Odinga will face off with Ruto who is likely to fly the flag of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance that he co-founded with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi.

Karua, who is a member of Mt Kenya Unity Forum founded by among others Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, former Kiambu governor William Kabogo and TSP leader Mwangi Kiunjuri, is also vying for Kirinyaga County governor’s position currently held by Anne Waiguru.

Her political move is expected to shape the political spectrum of the country owing to her charisma, energy and firm standing against ills in the society.

Being a member of Mt Kenya that enjoys over 8 million votes, her political move will without a doubt change the political landscape of the country.
