KENYA KWANZA SETTLES ON MUTURI AS AZIMIO UNVEILS SELECTION STRATEGY.

The race to replace president Uhuru Kenyatta is on the top notch as the two top candidates (Raila Odinga and William Ruto) battles to showcase their superiority to win their supporters and other electorates hearts.

It has now narrowed down to a game of numbers and that one with the wisest strategies and ideas is set to beat the other competitor with a scary margin

The war of numbers will now be easy to predict after the Kenya kwanza alliance containing Musalia Mudavadi,Moses Wetangula, William Ruto,Justin Muturi among other party leaders already unveiled their running mate.

According to a post made by Moses Kuria on his Facebook page, he has hinted on their alliance choosing the current national assembly Speaker Justin Muturi as their running mate. He claimed that it is so decided.

“it is so decided,” Kuria said.

This comes days after Azimio la umoja settled on Lee Kinyanjui as their best shot for the second position.

This was revealed by Mutahi Ngunyi who said that Martha Karua is playing hard to get and thus the coalition has settled on the Nakuru county governor who has a good track record.

“Martha Karua is playing hard to get, the azimio la umoja one Kenya alliance will now pick Lee Kinyanjui as its running mate, iko swali?” He posted.

Lee was supposed to defend his Nakuru county seat through the jubilee party ticket and settling in him means it is now a sure bet for the UDA Party member Susan Kihika.

Meanwhile, The Azimio La Umoja – One Kenya Coalition Running Mate Selection Panel has set the qualifications that the candidates seeking to be intereviewd must meet.

The Running Mate Selection Panel Secretary Elizabeth Meyo said on Sunday that the panel has commenced the process of vetting candidates.

“All the eminent Kenyans being considered for this important position of service to Kenyans will be meeting the selection panel on various days between May 4th and 10th, 2022,” Meyo said.

Upon the conclusion of the exercise, the panel said that the successful candidate will be unveiled to the public by the Azimio Presidential flagbearer Raila Odinga.

“The panel appreciates the humility of eminent persons for agreeing to be part of this noble process.”

Some of the requirements that interested candidates must have included:

Fidelity to the Constitution of Kenya with particular emphasis on the qualification for nomination as a Deputy Presidential Candidate.

Demonstrate in word and deed, that nomination to the high office of Deputy President of the Republic of Kenya is a public trust to be exercised in a manner that—:

a) demonstrates respect for the people;
b) brings honour to the nation and dignity to the office;
c) promotes public confidence in the integrity of the office; and
d) demonstrates the value that nomination to the office is a responsibility to serve the people, rather than the power to rule them.
