I WILL RETIRE FROM POLITICS IN 2027, GACHAGUA SPEAKS

The latest scramble for power within Mt Kenya’s political circle has put old allies against one another. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is pitted against Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro in what is being dubbed as the battle of the presidents.

This turf war came to a boiling point at the launch of a bursary scheme in Murang’a County where politicians sang Mr Nyoro’s praises as the next man fit to take up the position of President of Kenya.

Murang’a Senator Joe Nyutu made a bold statement declaring that Murang’a County deserves the next presidency after two of the previous three had been from Kiambu and one from Nyeri.

He was asked about the proper timeline for Nyoro to succeed Gachagua to which he replied “immediately”.
