Govt Offers Raila This Ahead of Mega Protests

Transport Cabinet Secretary Hon Kipchumba Murkomen has urged the Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to call off Wednesday’s anti-government protests and return to the table for negotiations.

While taking to his social media platforms, the former Elgeiyo Marakwet Senator said that the Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition has declined to be part of the government or any share of the government.

He further added that Raila Odinga should put the country’s interests first and call off the anti-government protests that have been scheduled for Wednesday Thursday and Friday.

He also added that Raila Odinga is an influential person and he should use his influence to call off the Wednesday mass action. Murkomen further stated that the two camps should now use Democratic institutions to address the issues that are causing political instability.

“Now that Azimio has refused to be part of the government in any form or shape, whether it is busy mkate or handshake, then I do not see the reason why we can’t prosecute the issues raised using our democratic institutions” read part of his statement.

This comes after the Azimio la Umoja coalition on Tuesday declared that Wednesday anti-government protests are still on. Azimio asked ita supporters in Nairobi to converge at Joseph Kangethe Grounds, Jacaranda, and historic Kamukunji Grounds.
