EXACT DATE WHEN SUPREME COURT WILL MAKE PETITION VERDICT.

The Supreme Court of Kenya has laid an elaborate roadmap for the presidential petitions filed at the Supreme Court of Kenya. 

So far, at least nine petitions have been filed at the Supreme Court of Kenya challenging President-elect William Ruto’s win.

Azimio La Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga and Busia Senator-Elect Okiya Omtatah are among those who have filed the petitions.

In a statement that detailed clearly every step of the petition, the courts stated that the final date of the verdict of the petition filed at the Supreme Court will on Monday, September 5.

According to the plan, the deadline for the filing of the presidential petition is Monday, August 22.

The respondents listed in the petition will be served within 24 hours with the deadline being Tuesday, August 23.

The schedule further indicates that response to the petition filed and served will be done within four days with the deadline set for Saturday, August 27.

Rejoinder filed and served will be done within one day with the deadline set for Sunday, August 28.

Interlocutory applications will be filed and served within one day with the deadline set for Monday, August 29.

Response to interlocutory applications filed will be done within one day and it has been set for Tuesday, August 30.

Third parties and friend of court applications filled and served will be within a day with the deadline being scheduled on Wednesday, August 31.

A pre-trial conference has been set for Tuesday, August 30.

The hearing and determination of the petition is within 14 days from the date of filing.
