Former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama has appointed the Machakos Medical and Technical Training College Director (MTTC) Faith Muli as his running mate in his bid to clinch the Machakos governor seat in the upcoming election.
Speaking at Kitulu Day Secondary School, the United Democratic Alliance chairman said that he chose Muli as his running mate because he wanted someone who is intellectually smart to help him reach the people should he win the governor’s seat.
Muthama said that with Muli by his side, he will be able to reach many people on the ground and deliver to them effectively.
He said that the MTTC director was the best suitable candidate for the running mate position not only because of her brain but because of her humility.
“I was looking for someone with brains and humbleness who can talk, listen and interact with the elderly women because we want to serve the Machakos people effectively,” Muthama said.
“Muli fits the running mate position very well because she is very understanding and can interact with every person regardless of their position in the society,” he added.
Muthama is the second governor aspirant in the Machakos governor race to announce his running mate. His announcement comes days after former State House Chief of Staff Nzioka Waita appointed Machakos County Assembly Speaker Florence Mwangangi as his running mate.
