UDA BIGWIGS SPLIT FROM THE PARTY

On the morning of Monday 26th, the National Assembly deputy speaker, Gladys Boss Shollei, raised eyebrows after she linked UDA party secretary general Cleophas Malala with the recent occurrences of violence in UDA meetings.

Shollei argued that since Malala took over as the ruling party’s secretary general, the party meetings have been marred with acts of violence as was seen in Isiolo, Marsabit and most recently in Mombasa counties.

The Uasin Gishu woman rep stated that there was no violence in UDA before Malala ascended to that position. She argued that Malala might be an agent who have been sent to finish UDA party from within.

On Monday afternoon, the deputy president Rigathi Gachagua made a visit at the party’s headquarters where he held a meeting with officials before briefing the media later.

In his short brief, Gachagua disclosed that he had seen somethings were not going well in the party and had told Malala to improve failure to which he would be fired from his position in the party.

The second in command proceeded to say that every party member who have got issues should feel free to criticize the secretary general even if it’s publicly. (Click here to watch video from 11 min).

“I had some few issues that I have told the SG to improve on. It is only that I did not tell him publicly like others have done. UDA is a free party and everyone’s voice must be heard. I don’t see anything wrong with criticizing Malala publicly.

There are some few things that I have told him he needs to improve. If he is unable to improve then we shall kick him out,” added the DP.
