Earlier this week news of Gideon Moi possibly running away from One Kenya Alliance dominated news articles. This was after the Baringo Senator skipped two consecutive OKA crucial meetings. There were rumours that he might be warming up to Raila.
It seems it is not only Gideon Moi who might be wanting to run away from the infant coalition. Grapevine has it that Kalonzo might be secretly working with Ruto. If both go, the journey will have come full cycle. We will be back to where it all started.
Mr Patrick Makau who is Mp for Mavoko and a Wiper Member said that they will be approaching William Ruto with an aim of forming a pact heading to 2022. Considering Kalonzo is the Wiper leader, many analysts read that the former vice president was seeking to form a working partnership with Ruto. Earlier Kalonzo had been categorical that he will never support Raila again for the top seat.
Wiper officials were quick to denie such a plan existed. “It is not a statement of fact from the party. May be it is a personal view. As the vice-chairman of the party, I am not aware of any such discussions. I have had various meetings with my party leader over the last week and none of that has ever featured in our talks. I would treat such statement as a personal statement,” said Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jr, the Wiper party vice-chairman.
Could it be Makau just spilled the beans on what is happening behind doors?
