MEET THE WOMAN WHO WILL TAKE OVER CHRIS KIRUBI SH 30 BILLION EMPIRE
When he breathed his last aged 80 years old, Kirubi left behind a Sh 30 Billion empire. The latest addition to his vast wealth was multimillion Two Rivers Mall. He had plans to revolutionize his home ranch to a business entity before he was diagnosed with cancer halting plans to do so.
His wealth will now be managed by his daughter Maryanne Musangi. Before demise of her father, she was one of the most powerful women in the country. You can only imagine her stature now that she is controlling one of the biggest conglomerates in Africa.
Maryanne has not come out of the blue. She was long prepared to be the heir of the company. Before Kirubi passed on, she was the managing director of Haco Industries which is part of Kirubi’s empire.
Apart from her father’s firm, she operated two private businesses: Secret Garden on Riverside Drive in Nairobi and another at Two Rivers called Olpul.
Among Kirubi’s kids, Maryanne is the only one who has shown interest in running his father’s companies. One of her siblings is a senior employee of DHL company and reportedly turned down an offer to work under his father. It is not immediately clear if now he will be willing to come back to Kenya and help his sister run the business. Another sibling stays in Dubai and she has always kept a low profile.
