NAJIB BALALA BLOCKED FROM JOINING KENYA KWANZA

Outspoken Nandi senator Samson Cherargei has told outgoing Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala to forget about joining the Kenya Kwanza government after William Ruto was declared the president-elect.

Taking to his official Twitter handle on Saturday, September 10, Cherargei accused Balala of what he termed as his failure to stand with the deputy president during his hour of need.

Balala’s tenure in office.

Cherargei also faulted the CS over the death of 10 rhinos after being moved to Tsavo East National Park in July 2018.

“CS Balala @tunajibu when 10 rhinos died mysteriously he insulted Kenyans and went to bed with despots when Ruto was being humiliated, he shall not be close to the Kenya kwanza government.

Retire with Uhuru peacefully. You have served 15 years and tourism sector plummeted!” said Cherargei.

Cherargei’s remarks came a few hours after it emerged that Balala, the longstanding Cabinet member was eyeing the same post again in the next government if his moves on social media are anything to go by.

The one-time Mvita MP has seemingly been jittery since the declaration of William Ruto as the president-elect after winning the August 9 vote.

Najib Balala congratulates Ruto
Balala was the first Cabinet secretary in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s executive to congratulate Ruto seconds after the pronouncement of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

He also showed up on Twitter on September 15 when the Supreme Court upheld Ruto’s win after throwing out nine petitions that sought to have the victory annulled.

Kenyans believe that Balala, thanks to his kindness to Ruto lately, could be after machinations to woo the president-elect into considering him for a ministerial post.

Neutral stand
It is not lost that as a host of his colleagues in the Cabinet partook in active politics, Balala remained silent on his political stance as he undertook his mandate.
