Kenya Kwanza Alliance has said it is ready to accommodate and work with Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka in the August 9 general election.
Addressing a public rally in Saboti Constituency, Trans Nzoia County, Tharaka Nithi Senator prof. Kithure Kindiki took a swipe at ODM party leader Raila Odinga for what he called breaching the 2017 agreement between him and Kalonzo Musyoka.
“Kalonzo supported him (Raila) in the 2013 and 2017 general elections. He has however betrayed Kalonzo by going against their 2017 agreement. We, therefore, ask him to respect our former Vice President, and if they don’t want to work with him, Kenya Kwanza is ready to work with Kalonzo,” Kindiki revealed.
The former Senate Deputy Speaker asked FORD Kenya party leader who is also one of Kenya Kwanza principals to initiate talks with Kalonzo that will see him join the alliance.
“You know Kalonzo Musyoka is a good friend of Senator Wetangula. Don’t you think we should send him to bring Kalonzo to Kenya Kwanza Alliance?” Kindiki asked the crowd.
On his part, Moses Wetangula called on Trans Nzoia electorates to rally behind Kenya Kwanza alliance to guarantee a first-round victory in the presidential election.
“We can only win this election if you come out and support our alliance. We want to ensure that we win with over 70%,” Wetangula said.
He further asked President Uhuru Kenyatta not to interfere with his succession by imposing Raila Odinga on the electorates.
“Mr. President Uhuru Kenyatta, Kenyans supported you for two terms. If you want to remain respected after you exit the political stage, do not impose a puppet in the name of Raila Odinga on us. Allow Kenyans to choose their own president,” Wetangula appealed.
Soy Constituency Member of Parliament Caleb Kositany said Kenya Kwanza Alliance will reduce the cost of fertilizer as soon as it forms the next government.
“We have a clear agenda of how to transform the economy of Kenya. We shall ensure that our farmers get subsidized fertilizer and other farm inputs,” Kositany said.
