The major mistake made by DP Ruto was an effort to politically weaken his boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta. That is a violation of all of the Laws of Power. He shot and missed. That was a weak point.
It is clear that DP Ruto is presently suffering for political oxygen, maybe for a variety of reasons. They might all be grouped as the ‘Mt Kenya Rebellion of 2022.’
A Slippery Mountain
Ruto laboured feverishly to build what he saw as an impregnable castle in the Mt Kenya region. He had little success. ‘Hardly’ is a functional term. Then, all of a sudden, he’s witnessed how the winds of time have eroded his once solid grip on the Mountain.
Mt Kenya embodies the idea that mountains are slippery. Mr Ruto is learning the hard way. The problem is that the “opposition” has grown invincible. It’s 0 o’clock, often known as political nightfall.
Putting a King Down
Ruto has publicly chastised the president, claiming that “when the president is the one giving us lessons on who to investigate, arrest, prosecute, but others are untouchable,” the entire process has deteriorated into institutions worshipping the powers that be rather than delivering on the mandate.
If he were president, Ruto declared that he would not protect his followers, friends, relatives, and allies, “not even myself.”
Mr Ruto’s choice of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as his running mate was his second major blunder, born of intense prejudice and crass audacity.
Rigathi was rejected by practically all Mt Kenya MPs, according to all sources.
They informed him that the previous district officer was toxic, unfriendly, and dominating. Mr Gachagua, on the other hand, appears to have been inspired by Mr Ruto’s “foundations” or preferred a deputy who resembled him. After many days of a political melodrama in his Karen official mansion, Mr Ruto announced his pick of Mr Gachagua.
Mr Ruto, on the other hand, is a worthy political rival. He’s a calculated and strategic politician. Mr Ruto would crawl out from behind the rock if there was Noah’s flood and everything was destroyed. Unfortunately, his nine lives are coming to an end at the Mountain.
