The presidential hopeful argued that Waruguru is the kind of energetic and enthusiastic leader Kenya longs for.

“The future Kenyan leaders are full of enthusiasm and pride when it comes to public service. Cate Waruguru is one such leader. This is the type of energetic leadership Kenya needs,” said Wanjigi.

Kenyans read politics
While Wanjigi’s post was aimed at bringing to light Waruguru’s leadership capabilities, his supporters read politics, concluding that the lawmaker could be wooing him to join the DP William Ruto-led hustler nation.

The tycoon is a known member of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party and eyes the presidency in the oncoming polls through the Raila Odinga-led party’s ticket.

Waruguru officially in UDA
The lawmaker, a one-time proponent of the Uhuru-Raila handshake, officially decamped from the ruling Jubilee party to join the Ruto-linked United Democratic Alliance (UDA).

Speaking to a local media a close ally of the legislator, disclosed that all had been set for Waruguru to make the major political announcement at the deputy president’s official Karen residence.

“Everything has been planned and our boss will do it officially and welcomed in the party by Deputy president William Ruto at Karen,” the insider said.

She was received by the deputy president, vowing to preach the hustler nation’s bottom-up gospel in the run-up to the next year’s presidential vote.
