Shocking Reason Why Kalonzo Skipped Azimio Meeting

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was notably absent from the Executive Summit of the Azimio One Kenya Coalition Party on Tuesday, January 30.

Eugene Wamalwa, the leader of the DAP-K party, informed the media that Kalonzo was engaged in activities in South Sudan, expressing his apologies for his absence and extending his blessings for the meeting to proceed.

Eugene Wamalwa emphasized that Kalonzo, though physically absent, had communicated with the coalition leader earlier that day. According to Wamalwa, Kalonzo’s views were considered, and his absence was acknowledged with respect.

Notable figures present at the meeting included Raila Odinga, Martha Karua, Eugene Wamalwa, Mwangi Wa Iria, Wycliffe Oparanya, Peter Munya, Jeremiah Kioni, Nderitu Murithi, George Wajackoyah, and Opiyo Wandayi.

Raila Odinga addressed speculations regarding a potential split within the opposition coalition, dismissing such claims as unfounded and mere propaganda. He asserted that reports of the coalition dividing were baseless, emphasizing the unity and cohesion within Azimio.

Martha Karua, while reading the coalition’s statement, highlighted the robust discussions held during the summit. The coalition members agreed on various strategies and tactical positions to strengthen their shared values, including accountability, integrity, public participation, good governance, respect for the rule of law, social justice, and non-discrimination.

Karua stated unequivocally that Azimio remains unified and committed to its core values. She outlined plans to bolster constituent parties through member recruitment drives, delegates conferences, and meetings of the Party Governing Council (PG) and National Executive Committee (NEC).

The leader of Narc Kenya underscored the commitment of all constituent parties to pursue a common program of action. This collective effort aims to address the challenges facing the country and defend the gains of democracy. The coalition remains steadfast in its dedication to fostering a united front and navigating the political landscape with shared purpose.
