PRESIDENT RUTO ANNOUNCES FRESH ELECTIONS COUNTRYWIDE.

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party, headed by President William Ruto, announced plans to carry out countrywide elections for grassroots party officials.

In a statement dated Friday, February 24, the Party’s Secretary General Veronica Maina indicated that the UDA was planning on holding the elections sometime in the year.

Consequently, she revealed that the party would carry out a mass registration exercise beginning March 1, 2023, to enable those who want to participate in the exercise to register as members.

Those seeking to be party officials of the ruling party were also advised to take advantage of the exercise or be locked out.

“Only bonafide and registered UDA party members will be eligible either to vote during the grassroots elections or to be elected as UDA Party Officials 

.

“In order to adequately prepare for this exercise, the UDA party will roll out a party membership registration drive to enhance the registration of all those persons interested in participating in this exercise 

,” read the statements in part.

On the other hand, she indicated that Kenyans who were able to access the internet could register online by visiting uda(dot)ke 

.

Details needed during the registration exercise include; name, email, mobile number, ID number the location details in terms of the constituency and the ward.

Interested Kenyans willing to join the party are also required to upload a photo of themselves.

However, the SG did not indicate the exact dates when the election is set to take place.

The party currently has 8,942,397 registered members 

2,673 coordinators and 9,809 volunteers.
