Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEB) has extended voter registration drive until November 5 in line with court order.

In a statement on Thursday, the electoral body said it will issue comprehensive report on the number of new voters and those who transferred their votes to other stations during the 33-day registration exercise.

IEBC however said constituency based continuous voter registration exercise will resume after tomorrow.

“This will run until such a time the commission will publish a gazette notice suspending the exercise to pave way for verification of the voter register in accordance with the law,” Chebukati said in a statement.

During continuous voter registration at constituency level, there will be registration of new voters, transfer of votes and deletion of dead voters.

“The Commission will like to encourage new voters to register in order to exercise their right to vote as enshrined in the 2010 Constitution, ” Chebukati added.
