Kalonzo Suffers Huge Pain in The Bone Marrow

In an exclusive interview with Nation Africa, Kalonzo Musyoka, the principal of Azimio, delved into the intense dynamics surrounding the quest for the Azimio Presidential and running mate ticket in the lead-up to the 2022 Statehouse battle.

To avoid a repeat of being labeled a deserter, reminiscent of the 2007 incident when he failed to align with Raila, Kalonzo expressed his commitment to supporting the Raila Odinga, Martha Karua ticket in 2022, even after facing exclusion.

“I always believe in playing as a team. In 2007, I was accused of not doing so. That’s why I decided to support Martha Karua and Raila Odinga in 2022,” stated Kalonzo, highlighting his dedication to collaborative efforts.

Acknowledging the challenge of wholeheartedly supporting the Raila, Karua ticket and witnessing a stolen victory, Kalonzo confessed, “I did it completely selflessly. This was excruciating; surrendering everything and having it taken away feels like a pain in the bone marrow.”

It’s noteworthy that in 2022, Kalonzo, for the third time, had to set aside his presidential aspirations to make room for Raila Odinga. Despite not securing the running mate slot, he remained part of the team.

This episode unfolds against the backdrop of Kalonzo’s historical decisions and the complex political landscape leading up to the 2022 elections. The interview sheds light on his commitment to collaborative politics, even in the face of personal sacrifices.
