JUBILEE SENATOR HAS DIED THROUGH ROAD ACCIDENT – REST IN PEACE

Nominated Senator Victor Prengei of the Jubilee Party on Monday night, August 16, passed on after sustaining injuries in a road accident. He was aged 36.

Prengei, who was nominated to represent the youth and minorities in the Senate, was involved in an accident in Giotto area of Nakuru town.

He was rushed to a hospital in Nakuru for emergency treatment but was pronounced dead shortly after. Area police boss Beatrice Kiraguri confirmed the incident.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui announced that the accident happened at around 9.45 pm as Prengei was driving towards Kabarak. His body has since been moved to War Memorial Hospital awaiting transfer to the mortuary.

“He was a quiet and humble leader, always conscious of the huge burden he carried.”

“To the family and the people of Marioshoni, our hearts and prayers during these difficult times,” Kinyanjui stated.

The fallen Senator hailed from the minority Ogiek community and in 2017 made history when he became the first member of his community to serve in Parliament.

Gilgil MP Martha Wangari was among the first leaders to mourn the youthful legislator.

“This life Nakuru and the country mourns the loss of nominated Senator Victor Prengei following a road accident this evening,” Wangari said.
