Cherargei Attacks Murkomen Badly

Two days after roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen badly lectured Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei over his faulty remarks in Nandi, the senator has responded.

This was after Murkomen, who was in Chesumei constituency publicly expressed a differing viewpoint on Friday when confronted with Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei’s call for the exclusion of non-local contractors from road projects in the Rift Valley region.

The dispute emerged during a speech given at the funeral of Chesumei MP Paul Biego Polo’s son. Senator Cherargei advocated for the allocation of road projects to local contractors, emphasizing the potential benefits to the residents.

“I’ve heard that some individuals are proposing to engage contractors from outside our community. Let’s prioritize our local youth in becoming contractors because failing to nurture them in this field will diminish our competitiveness,” stated Cherargei.

However, CS Kipchumba took exception to Cherargei’s proposition, contending that such a request might ultimately harm the local population, deeming it regressive.

He went ahead to shame Cherargei saying he was grateful President Ruto was not reasoning like him.

However, on Saturday evening, Cherargei in an indirect message took on Murkomen, vowing to continue “fighting for the people of Nandi” despite the criticism.

“As the senator of “akili kidogo” of the Great people of Nandi County, I shall always defend with my blood and sweat their interests WITHOUT fear of intimidation, blackmail, coercion or political patronage!” he stated.
