The race to succeed the Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana in 2022 is intensifying with various aspirants eyeing the seat.
So far, the aspirants that have expressed interest for the Makueni top seat are Prof Philip Kaloki, the immediate former board chairman of the Kenya Medical Training Colleges, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Jnr, Kibwezi West MP Patrick Musimba, and Woman Rep Rose Museo.
Now in what appears to be increased competition, another aspirant (Prof Emmanuel Mutisya) has also shown interest for the seat.
This has been revealed when Deputy President William Ruto has toured the region and endorsed him to run under United Democratic Alliance (UDA)
Ruto’s return to Ukambani comes barely two weeks after he made an extensive tour of Machakos county.
