Telecoms operator Safaricom has announced a temporary system upgrade on Monday, 18th July 2022 which will affect all M-PESA services.
In a statement on Saturday, the telco company revealed that all M-PESA services would be unavailable from around Monday midnight.

“As part of our systems’ investment, we will be carrying out a planned M-PESA upgrade on the morning of Monday 18th July 2022 between 12:30 AM and 1:00 AM. During this upgrade, all M-PESA services will be unavailable,” read the statement.

In the said duration, Safaricom noted that other services such as calls, data, and SMS would not be affected by the process.

As the telco operator regrets inconveniences to its users, it reiterated its commitment to providing better services to the customers.

“We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your support as we strive to enable you to achieve even more through our innovations,” stated Safaricom.

“We are constantly investing in our systems to serve you even better, to provide you with additional innovations, and to support increasing customer growth and usage.”
