MIKE SONKO EXPOSES POLITICIANS SPREADING HIV

Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has left his social media followers puzzled after claiming that a fellow politician has been deliberately spreading HIV/Aids.

In a post seen by Litkenya.com, Sonko alleged that the elected leader had been maliciously transmitting the disease to women and girls maliciously.

“Some leaders are very foolish and they should be set on fire. You know very well you are HIV positive but still, you go ahead to have sex with women and impregnate them,” he said.

The impeached county boss promised that the name of the politician would be revealed soon.

“You are a real devil. Your days are numbered,” he added.

Attempts by curious Kenyans to push the former Nairobi senator to divulge more failed.

However, some netizens felt he was addressing a senator, but still, no one was ready to mention his name.

According to Section 24 of the HIV/Aids Prevention and Control Act, the law prohibits anyone who is aware that he/she is HIV-positive from having sexual intercourse with a person without informing them.

“…take all reasonable measures and precautions to prevent the transmission of HIV to others and to inform, in advance, any sexual contact or persons with whom needles are shared..”

Contravening this provision is a criminal offence punishable by imprisonment of up to seven years, and/or fine.

In 2015, however, the High Court declared the provision unconstitutional.

A three-judge bench held that since there is no clear definition of the words “sexual contact”, the section is “vague and overbreadth”.
