Journalist Kills Himself Inside His House

Kenyans have been left in mourning following the sudden death of a journalist. Former Pwani FM journalist Sammy Ambari popularly known as Mtumishi was found dead after hanging himself inside his house in Matsangoni ward, Kilifi County.

The journalist hosted a weekly gospel radio show on Sundays at Pwani FM dubbedTumsifustarting from 6 pm in the evening to 9 pm.

Pwani FM is a coast-based radio that covers issues in the region.

Ambari later joined politics and vied for the Matsangoni ward in the 2022 general elections  

which he did not clinch.

His colleagues in the media industry have eulogized him as a humorous person, outgoing, and showed a lot of leadership skills.

His former employer Pwani FM posted the news of his demise through their social media pages confirming that he died by suicide.

‘’He immersed himself in the political arena after leaving Pwani FM,’’ stated Pwani FM. Police are yet to issue a statement  

on the matter but people close to him stated that he showed no signs of distress or illness.

Cases of people taking their own lives have been on the rise, with some experts pointing to the low mental health awareness in the country.

Experts have warned that  the economic hardships currently being experienced in the country will further push more Kenyans into depression.
