EDUCATION CS, MACHOGU CHANGES TUNE ON CBC

The Constitution of Kenya clearly states that children are entitled to the right of free basic and compulsory education in order to attain knowledge and skills that will help them in future.

The Kenya Kwanza government that is under the leadership of president Ruto formed a task force that is currently moving across the country to collect recommendations about the implementation of the competency based curriculum (CBC). The task force is under the leadership of Prof Munavu.

Education cabinet secretary Ezekiel Machogu has revealed that the fate of grade six learners whether they will transit to the secondary or remain in primary schools for the junior secondary will be determined by president William Ruto come next month.

CBC is a new education system that was introduced by the Jubilee government of the immediate former president Uhuru Kenyatta to replace the 8:4:4 system.

In conclusion, there is a big dilemma on which step will be taken for the grade six learners who are in primary school and preparing to seat for their national exams.
