CHAOS AS RAILA ENTERS EMBAKASI
Ruto Must Go” Rents The Air As Raila and His Co Makes A Thunderous Entrance To Embakasi. It is getting a thicker and thicker for president William Ruto and his government to contain Raila’s demos.
Raila Odinga, the leader of the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition, led supporters in anti-government demonstrations on Thursday in Nairobi’s Imara Daima neighbourhood.
A few minutes after one o’clock, Odinga’s convoy began travelling down Mombasa Road into the residential sector in the Embakasi South constituency.
He was surrounded by other opposition figures, including Kalonzo Musyoka of the Wiper Party and Azimio co-principal Martha Karua.
After Monday and last week, the third round of anti-government demonstrations took place on Thursday.
While there was not much movement in Nairobi’s Central Business District, there was substantially less interaction between the police and protestors on Thursday than there had been during the prior protests.
But, in the middle of the morning, police fired tear gas at protesters in a part of Mathare.
