CHAOS AS ANOTHER GIANT NATIONAL SCHOOL BURNS DOWN.

A fire broke out at the Vihiga based boys’ school on Sunday around 6 p.m.

In a video, the school’s dormitories are seen being destroyed by the big fire with students running for their safety.

Firefighters from Vihiga County government responded to the scene to contain the inferno.

The cause of the fire is yet to be known and reports indicate that there were no injuries with this fire.

Meanwhile, in Nairobi, over 59 students are receiving treatment in hospital after a fire broke out at Buruburu Girls High School.

Soon after the fire broke out, more than a dozen parents arrived at the school and demanded to be allowed to go home with their children leading to a standoff.

“No one is telling us anything and that is why we want to be allowed to go home with our children,” one parent said

Explaining the genesis of the fire, school principal Caroline Maina said the fire occurred after an engagement with form one and form two students.

“I had a baraza with form one and form two from morning until around 2:30 pm where I had even invited counsellors to talk to the students. It is after the counselling session that I invited my guests for late lunch. As I was walking back, a teacher approached me notifying me that one of the dormitories was on fire”, she said.
