Uhuru’s Possible Plan to Vie For Presidency Emerges
Since the law is unclear whether a head of state should retire permanently, the former Controller of State Budget, Hon. Franklin Bett gave President William Ruto another headache this morning by suggesting that former President Uhuru Kenyatta could consider running for the presidency soon.
A senior leader told the Saturday Standard that if recent events in the former ruling Jubilee Party are any indication, President William Ruto and his men should be worried.
He also suggested that Uhuru’s entry into the fray to lead the Jubilee party may have been one of the first signs to his opponent that he would not back down.
“There’s nothing in the law that says the former president can’t come back and run for office,” adds Bett. “He can be out for a season or two and then compete.”
