TEARGAS LOBBIED IN NAIROBI CBD
Famous comedian has reportedly been arrested while protesting over high cost of living in Nairobi CBD today.
The information reaching us from a reliable source of information is that Erick Omondi had taken to the CBD today, hours after the Azimio la Umoja and President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza wing’s agreed to put on holding protests to solve their opposition’s concerns( including the high cost of living) through the parliamentary way.
While announcing the decision yesterday evening, opposition leader Raila Odinga revealed that they will not shy away from organizing for more protests should the dialogue between his wing and the Kenya Kwanza wing fail to bear meaningful fruits.
But now, it has been revealed that comedian-come-politician Erick Omondi decided to take to the streets today morning to protests over the high cost of living.
In a video shared by the reliable source, police could be seen whisking away Omondi as some bodaboda guys escorting the them.
Some people were also spotted taking pictures as the police and the comedian moved at a high speed after the arrest.
What now remains unclear is whether the small group of Kenyans spotted at the video were in the company of the comedian or whether he decided to protest alone.
It should be remembered that this is not the first time Omondi, who first made a name on politics after joining former Presidential Candidate Jimmy Wanjigi’s campaign team, is being arrested over protesting against the government.
Just recently, Erick was arrested while headed to State House with a Mkokoteni full of CVs. It was reported that he was on his way to deliver the CVs to State House in a protests to push the government to create job opportunities for Kenyan youths.
