Ruto Fires Kenya Power Officials

President Ruto is facing piling pressure from leaders across the political divide to take action against the Ministry of Energy and Kenya Power officials due to yesterday’s nationwide power outage that lasted over 12 hours since yesterday at 9a.m.

In a move seeking to call for accountability,Opiyo Wandayi;National Assembly Leader Of Minority and Samson Cherargei;Nandi Senator did not that the power outage did affect a majority of operations of the country including economic activities.

Uginja MP Wandayi did lament that the blackout was a major disservice to the Kenyan people who are already dealing with expensive electricity costs.

Charargei on his part demanded that the national utility firm needs to compensate the Kenyan people for the losses that they incurred during the over 12 hour outage.

The senator called the power outage a major shame;given that the key infrastructure in the country such as JKIA were majorly affected after failure of their backup generators.

Kenya Power on their part blamed the power outage on being caused by a system failure that happened in one of its stations.
