RIGATHI GACHAGUA JOINS OKA.

Mathira Member of Parliament Rigathi Gachagua is the latest victim of the ‘slip of the tongue’, which is currently common in the Kenyan political scene.

This is after the outspoken lawmaker accidentally campaigned for the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) political faction during an interview on Citizen TV.

It is worth noting that Gachagua is a zealous supporter of Deputy President William Ruto in his presidential bid and OKA has ruled out forming a coalition with him.

In the Monday, February 28, session, Gachagua said their team under OKA, during the Budget Policy Statement in Parliament, put a proposal to provide in the budget KSh 5 billion to subsidise fertilisers, a move that would have seen the price of the commodity reduced.

He, however, realised his mistake and corrected himself, saying it is the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, which consists of Ruto’s allied politicians and those associated with ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi and Ford Kenya’s Moses Wetang’ula.

As seen in a video, Gachagua struggled to remember the Kenya Kwanza Alliance name, leaving his fellow panellists, MP Robert Mbui, Gladys Wanga and the show host in stitches.
