Nadia Mukami Single Again

Kenyan musician Nadia Mukami recently disclosed her relationship status, stating that she considers herself single until the father of her child, Arrow Bwoy, formalizes their commitment through the payment of dowry to her parents.

During an interview with Kiss FM, Nadia Mukami candidly revealed that Arrow Bwoy had not undertaken this traditional step, leading her to describe their relationship as being on a provisional basis.

In her own words, she stated, “I am single as far as I know until the father of my child pays my dowry. He has not paid any dowry to my parents. He is with me on credit. Niko soko. I am not married to him.”

Nadia Mukami went on to emphasize the importance of adhering to traditional customs and highlighted the significance of dowry payment in establishing a committed and recognized union.

In today’s era, she believes it is crucial to communicate to men that until the customary dowry payment is made, her commitment remains incomplete.

She stressed, “In the 21st century, we need to tell our men that if they have not paid any dowry to us, one of my legs is in, the other one is not.”

Furthermore, Nadia shared her perspective that her parents had made significant efforts in raising her, and for any man to claim her as his wife, he should acknowledge and appreciate her upbringing by fulfilling the customary dowry obligation.

“He should marry me officially. I am free, and if you really want me to say I am married, you have my parent’s address. I am a lady who is highly educated and holds herself in high regard; I am a brand.

My father invested so much in me. I did not attend schools where people consume Githeri; I went to an international school, so the dowry is substantial, and he needs to invest in this relationship.”

In a previous interview with Radio Maisha, Nadia Mukami also reflected on her collaboration with Arrow Bwoy on their hit song ‘Radio Love.’ She shared that while they worked on the song together, they had no intentions of developing a romantic relationship because he did not fit her usual type.

Addressing their breakup in December of the previous year, the couple disclosed that they had indeed gone through a separation but had successfully resolved their issues and reconciled.
