The hotel, which sits on a 10-acre parcel of land, is estimated to have around 600 guest rooms and is located near Flamingo Pride Inn resort. The hotel shared management with Weston Hotel and reportedly has a partnership with some airlines that help bring tourists directly to the hotel when they visit the country.

During its construction from 2016 to 2018 by Avco Agencies, the DP is estimated to have forked out around Ksh 600 million.

At the time, the construction was halted by the county government after residents complained that the contractor was dumping debris on a public beach. However, the impasse did not last long as the contractor continued with the construction.

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) had also issued a seven-day ultimatum to the hotel’s management to vacate ocean space.

This was after it was alleged that the developer had attempted to grab the Indian Ocean land.

However, after visits by NEMA officials, the developer was given a green light to continue with the construction after the contractor removed sand from the beach.

Some of the other establishments owned by the DP include; Kitengela Gas Company, Murumbi Farm in Transmara (395 Hectares), ADC Laikipia Mutara Ranch, Dolphine Hotel in Mombasa (3 Hectares) and Mata Farm in Taita Taveta (1,026 Hectares).

Others are – Weston Hotel in Nairobi County, a private residence in Elgon View, Eldoret, Koitalel Poultry Farm in Eldoret, and another private residence in Kosachei in Eldoret.
