Ruto Reduces Salaries of Govt Firm’s Employees
In an attempt of harmonising salaries of all civil servants and government officials, president William Ruto has now trained his guns against top managers in the 12 state firms who are believed to be earning better than him.
As relayed by a report covered on Wednesday’s publication, the head of has instructed Salaries and Renumeration Commission to review salaries for state officials including top managers of government’s firms.
While he’s taking home approximately ksh 1.4 m without allowance, it is believed that top managers in the said firms are taking home between ksh 2-3m monthly.
And as a result, he has instructed for a crackdown on 12 state firms which includes NHIF, NSSF, Kenya Power Company, Kenya Ports Authority, Kenya Revenue Authority, Kenya Airport authority and many others.
” We have discovered that there are people in parastatals and other institutions who earns more.than what the president gets. Which jobs are they possibly doing to guarantee them to allocate such salaries? Ruto said during devolution conference that was held in Eldoret.
This came after the head and deputy president Rigathi Gachagua turned down a request from SRC to increase their salaries alongside that of other state officials.
