MAN CAUGHT PUTTING TWO EGGS IN A COFFIN
Drama ensued during a funeral in Mumias, Kakamega county after an elderly man was busted trying to insert two eggs inside a coffin as the burial ceremony was underway.
Benson Mumia, 60, a resident of Lurambi Constituency left the mourners in Eshikhulo village, Mumias East in shock after his bizarre act.
TUKO.co.ke understands the elderly man was caught sneaking the two eggs inside the coffin and this irked the mourners who almost beat him up.
Jane Aseka, an eyewitness, caught the suspect placing the two eggs near the deceased’s head as she was going to check on the body before covering the coffin in readiness for burial.
Aseka quickly raised alarm to other mourners who got hold of the 60-year-old man, angrily demanding an explanation from him.
“I saw him with two eggs. He placed one on the left and the other on the right side of the deceased’s head,” she said.
The irate mourners attacked the suspect leaving him mildly injured.
This brought the funeral ceremony to a standstill as the locals wrapped their heads around it.
“Ever since I was born I have never seen or hard a case like this one, we are suspecting he was involved in the death of the deceased considering her demise was abrupt,” said one of the mourners.
However, according to community elders led by Josphert Shitsama, the suspect may have been responsible for the death of the woman and for him to put the eggs, was a way to prevent spirits from tormenting him.
