Every politician dangles that carrot every election season to get votes.

For example, Kalonzo has been promising Ukambani residents access to clean water since 1985. The people have voted for him repeatedly with faint hope that he will quench their thirst.

Kivutha Kibwana and Alfred Mutua are not different. They brought dreamy stories about devolution. Outlined blueprints on how people will access water. For 10 years they have not delivered.

Just like Kalonzo they lied.

Yesterday in Makueni, Raila Odinga repeated the same story.

He told the people of Ukambani that this time they must drink water.
