LADY SPOTTED BATHING HER HUSBAND IN A BASIN

Husband and wife in Nakuru have delivered morning drama in Nakuru, the wife stripping her husband naked to bathe him outside the house they were renting. Sharon Mukami, 32, says that she was only observing customs, that require her to bathe him once a month in cold water to cast out any evil spirits or ward off poverty.

Neighbors questioned the practice, saying it amounts to indecent exposure to him. Despite the crowd that gathered to witness the early-morning incident, Sharon kept pouring cold water on her husband, applying soap and humming traditional songs.

When approached later for comment, Sharon reiterated that the two of them have been

observing that custom for eight years now. “Tunatakasa miili ndio tusishikwe na magonjwa au

kupatikana na laana za wanadamu. Ni kulingana na mila na desturi zetu kufanya hivi.

Mamangu mzazi ndiye aliyeniamrisha kumuosha mchumba wangu mara kwa mara kuepuka

laana” she said.

Remarkably, even after upholding such a practice for so long, both Sharon and her husband

James have been living in abject Poverty for years. James has been unemployed for years now, surviving on errand jobs at a Car Wash in Nakuru. Clearly, a much better, if not stronger ritual was required to uproot them from their suffering. Bathing her husband naked outside wasn’t effective enough, as their living conditions hadn’t changed.
