DCI To Raid Raila’s Home?
Controversial barrister and former confidant to Raila Odinga, Miguna Miguna, who is now a resolute associate of the Kenya Kwanza government, has made bold claims regarding Raila’s financial dealings.
Miguna has officially called on the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers to launch a probe into Odinga’s mansion located in the plush Nairobi suburb of Karen.
In a recent broadcast on his YouTube channel, Miguna alleged that during 2017-2018, Odinga was handed a staggering 50 billion Kenyan shillings to facilitate the famous ‘handshake’. This political truce, Miguna says, amounted to Odinga betraying the National Resistance Movement (NRM) – a movement which previously declared him the ‘peoples’ president’ under Miguna’s leadership.
Furthering his claims, Miguna alleged that Odinga received substantial financial support for his Azimio campaigns as well as the BBI (Building Bridges Initiative) agenda, with substantial contributions coming from influential billionaires from the Mt. Kenya region.
Perhaps the most startling of Miguna’s claims is the suggestion that Odinga modified a restroom within his Karen mansion, turning it into a fortified room specifically designed to secure billions of shillings he purportedly received from various sources.
While such claims are sensational and as yet unproven, they have added more fuel to the already fiery political landscape of Kenya.
Concluding his remarks, Miguna issued a stern warning. He asserted that unless the alleged funds hidden in Odinga’s mansion are traced and recovered, ongoing talks and demonstrations addressing the soaring cost of living in Kenya would be rendered meaningless.
To Miguna, these efforts would merely be seen as disingenuous public relations maneuvers, rather than genuine efforts to address the challenges faced by ordinary Kenyans.
