ANOTHER PASTOR ARRESTED
Incidents where Kenyans have been swindled by pastors have been on the rise in the recent past with the government through the National Police Service doing their best to arrest the suspect.
The followers of these churches have been suffering the brunt of the actions of their pastors but the Directorate of Criminal Investigations is hot on the heels of these supposed men of God.
This morning, according to the available reliable reports that we have with us from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, a pastor in Kirinyaga County has been taken into custody after disappearing with two million shillings from a church.
The incident is said to have taken place at the Anglican Church of Kenya Mwea Town Church as per the reports that we have with us from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations.
DCI have arrested the clergyman who is suspected to have swindled the ACK Mwea Town Church, over 2 million Kenya shillings that was meant for the procurement of church seats.
On February 9, of the this year, the church leadership contracted Apostle Blessed Gilbert Kariuki as well as his spouse to deliver 410 seats to the church on or before April 10th, 2023 but the supposed ‘Man of God’ neither delivered nor showed up on that day.
As reported by the church at Wang’uru Police station found in Kirinyaga, the man of the cloth swindled them their money before he disappeared.
Efforts to reach him are said to have turned futile, which thus prompted the church vicar to file the report at the Wanguru Police station for action.
Yesterday, Apostle Kariuki was arraigned at the Wanguru Law Courts, where he answered to charges of obtaining the money by false pretenses.
