SITAKI HIYO KAZI: DRAMA AS NATEMBEYA DECLINES PRESIDENT UHURU’S JOB OFFER

Immediate Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya has said he will not be moving to the Office of the President.

This follows the transfers and deployments that were announced by Interior Principal Secretary Karanja Kibicho on Wednesday, December 12.

In the transfer sheet, it indicated that Natembeya had been redeployed to the office of the President.

The document came shortly after Natembeya announced that he had quit the service and will now be plunging into politics where he is eyeing the Trans Nzoia governor seat.

In an interview with TV47, Natembeya revealed that he won’t be moving to the Office of the President as directed since he has enough leave days to exhaust while serving his notice period.

“I’ve resigned from the government and I’m not taking the new position at the President’s office. I have enough leave days to serve notice,” he said.

Immediate Makueni County Commissioner Mohamed Ahmed Maalim was appointed as Natembeya’s replacement.

Maalim has had a glowing career in the public service.

On December 6, 2019, he was awarded the best county administrator by the Public Service Commission.

He was recognized and rewarded alongside other 14 public servants for exemplary performance in various award categories during the 2019 Public Service Excellence Awards (PSEA).

“I commend you for the good governance, integrity, and exhibiting selfless leadership in service delivery,” head of Public Service, Joseph Kinyua said at the event where he was the Chief Guest.

He was feted for paving access roads leading to the beach where land grabbers had taken over.
