REST IN PEACE. 5 CHURCHILL COMEDIANS ARE DEAD
- Othuol Othuol Othuol.
Othuol passed away in October 2020 at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), where he was hospitalised. Othuol has been in and out of hospital for the better part of 2020, and his close friends had been asking Kenyans to pray for him. In July 2020, he was diagnosed with Tuberculosis and was admitted to KNH before he was later discharged.
However, he was re-admitted to the facility about a week before his death.
- Ayeiya
Real name Emmanuel Makori, the funnyman, passed away in a tragic road accident on Magadi Road in 2017.
Ayeiya’s wife and fellow comedian Paul Ogutu, alias Wakimani, survived the accident.
Wakimani later said that Ayeiya’s family demanded KSh 21 million compensation for allegedly causing his death.
- Njenga Mswahili
In November 2019, another Churchill Show comedian, Njenga Mswahili, was found dead. His body was discovered in Dagoretti South after allegedly being hit by a train.
It emerged that Njenga went through tough times before meeting his death.
- DJ Nakumatt
The funnyman passed away in July 2018 after a short illness.
DJ Nakumatt burst into the limelight after videos of him doing remixes of songs went viral online.
Consequently, he got a call-up and was featured on Churchill Show.
- Kasee
The comedian, whose real name was Joseph Musyoki Kivindu, was found dead in June 2020 around the Kinoo area.
An autopsy later revealed that he was poisoned. His death led comedienne Zeddy to accuse Churchill Show creative director Victor Ber of leading comedians into depression.
“Here is the guy behind the artistes’ woes. If you have been to Churchill Show auditions, you know this guy. He will criticise you with his tough words,” she wrote.
