William Kabogo Changes Tune On DP William Ruto, Sends His Camp A Stern Warning Ahead Of August Polls

Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has warned hecklers against plans to heckle Raila Odinga’s running mate Martha Karua during her campaign trail in Kiambu county on Saturday, May 21.

Through a short video on his Facebook page, Kabogo warned against a group of men allegedly stationed around Kiambaa wearing Tujibebe party t-shirts over intentions to heckle Karua and portray his Tujibebe party in bad limelight.

According to Kabogo, such an act is not only primitive but a stale and ancient way of doing politics. He warned the group saying they should abandon their intentions immediately.

He dismissed the group, saying they are not Tujibebe party supporters and that they could have been funded and organized by his competitors.

“I hear there are some people around Kiambaa clad in Tujibebe T-shirts and are planning to disrupt Martha Karua’s meeting. That is being primitive and an ancient way of doing politics, stop that nonsense,” warned Kabogo.

This comes at a time when Marth Karua has intensified her offensive visits to the Mt Kenya regions since she was nominated to be Raila’s running mate.

On Friday, Karua and her Azimio la Umoja brigade pitched camps in Ruto’s Deputy Rigathi Gachagua’s hometown of Nyeri, as she looks forward to wrestling the region away from the Kenya Kwanza coalition.

Karua on Saturday visited Limuru, Kiambu town, Gatundu South, Thika, Juja and Githurai areas, and Kiambaa.

On Friday, Interior PS Karanja Kibicho directed government administrators to work closely with other security agencies to ensure that all hecklers who usually disrupt political meetings are arrested and charged.

Speaking in Kirinyaga, Kibicho said hired groups are on the rise to disrupt political rallies, especially in the Mt Kenya region.

While referring to the recent incident where Martha Karua was heckled during her homecoming rally in Kirinyaga, Kibicho laid blame on a section of leaders from Kirinyaga who allegedly organized youths to disrupt their competitor’s rallies.
