Uhuru’s Secret Plan to Make Sure Ruto Loses in 2027
Former Ndaragwa Member of Parliament, Mr. Jeremiah Kioni, disclosed on December 15, 2023, that retired President Uhuru Kenyatta is actively strategizing to ensure the defeat of President William Ruto in the 2027 general election.
Addressing the public in Murang’a County, Mr. Kioni, who is currently contesting for the position of Jubilee party secretary-general against the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament, emphasized Mr. Kenyatta’s continued influence in the political arena.
Acknowledging Mr. Kenyatta as the leader of the Jubilee party, Mr. Kioni expressed respect for his ten-year presidency and role as the spokesperson for the Mount Kenya region.
In addition to the competition for the Secretary-General role between Mr. Kioni and Mr. Kega, there is also a contest for the party leader position involving Mr. Kenyatta and Special Member of Parliament Ms. Sabina Chege.
The Speaker of the National Assembly, Moses Wetang’ula, recognized the party as independent in parliament and appointed Ms. Chege as its whip, a move contested by supporters of the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya coalition led by Mr. Kenyatta. They have taken legal action to compel Ms. Chege to relinquish her position and return received funds.
Mr. Kioni asserted that Mr. Kenyatta will engage with grassroots supporters, strategizing for their return to power in the 2027 general election. He highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the party’s presence in Murang’a County and emphasized plans to extend these efforts to Nyeri County, the stronghold of Mr. Kega and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.
Despite challenges in the current leadership, Mr. Kioni assured the people of the Mount Kenya region that positive developments are on the horizon.
Furthermore, Mr. Kioni shared that the party has conducted elections for officials in Murang’a County, with ongoing initiatives to fortify their presence in all 35 wards.
He concluded by instilling hope in the region, emphasizing that under Mr. Kenyatta’s leadership, the party is building stronger connections with citizens.
