STUDENT WHO TOPPED KCSE NATIONALLY FOUND DEAD
The best student in the 2012 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), Edgar Tony, is dead.
The former top student was found dead on Wednesday, August 11. His step-brother, Odongo Odol, who spoke to Kenyans.co.ke on Thursday, August 12, confirmed.
Odol stated that Tony’s body was found mutilated by the roadside in Homa Bay County.

“I received the communication from his immediate brother who told me that Tony had passed away. He had suffered deep wounds in the head and the body,” Odol told Kenyans.co.ke.
“The bruises were so deep but we are not yet aware whether the injuries were inflicted by assailants or after an accident. His family are currently with the body at Jaramogi Referral Hospital.”
He eulogised the late as a brilliant young man, full of life. Tony passed away months after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in the US.
“He graduated last year and came back home later on towards the end of 2020,” Odol added.
Tony, an alumnus of Maseno High School, scored a mean grade of A with 86.99 points. His step-brother stated that he was not aware whether the matter has been reported to the police yet.
The deceased’s immediate brother and parents were unavailable for comment.
“Number one is Tony Edgar with a performance index of 86.99 percent from Maseno School in Kisumu County. He is followed by Kiarie Oliver from Maranda High school with a performance index of 86.967 percent.
“They are followed also by a male, Victor Borona with a performance index of 86.871 percent,” then Education Minister the late Mutula Kilonzo announced.
